Icon Contributions
i put together these two icon sets for nsis, feel free to use these.
yi-llama.ico is based on an image by nullsoft. i added a 3d effect and converted it to various icon-sizes and palettes.
yi-pixel.ico contains 3 sizes and two palettes, kinda inspired by BeOS
i plan to put together some more icons in future!

yi-pixel.ico will be included in alpha 7. The other one is just too huge.
Thanks for contributing.

thanks kichik. i found it useless to include two palettes to yi-pixel.ico, so i updated the icon (attachement).
ps: no need to include the .txt in alpha7, i'm not that much a credit-whore ;)

Yathosho
29th August 2002 12:33 UTC
alright, added an uninstaller icon. i'm not 100% satisfied, but i guess it's alright.

made this nice and clean icon-set for nsis. think the first thing when i get up tomorrow is create matching checkboxes...
feel free to use these :D

final version, did some minor modifications. comes in two flavors now (one with round edges), both supporting transparent checkboxes (as before).

Great icons as always, good job :)
Can you please convert all of the above icons to 16 color icons? None have them has more than 10 colors as far as my human eyes can see. If you make it 16 colors, older Windows version will be able to show it and the icons will be smaller.
TIA

16 colors is not possible. I have converted them to 256 colors in CVS.
Yathosho
22nd September 2002 12:48 UTC
here we go.. :D
the icons come now in two palettes, 256 and 16 colors. i dont know if it was required for the checkboxes, but i did the same to them. of course i prefer the colors of the 256 version here, since it matches the icons better.

i could not resist. here come another two 256 color icons. enjoy! :p

Added to CVS. No need for 16 color check bitmaps.

time for something new. three flavors of the "layers" checkboxes. enjoy!
Yathosho
12th March 2003 01:20 UTC
maybe these two are better than the previous submitted ones.
1) if you like all of them and think about including them all to the official distribution, rename the ones in the yi-layers_final.zip to yi-layersMG.ico and yi-layersMB.ico.
2) personally i'd prefer ignoring the attachment in the previous post. in that case please leave the names as provided in yi-layers_final.zip
thanks and enjoy ;)

altright, i started uploading my icons/checkboxes to the nsis archive. i won't post new icons here anymore, unless there's something i find worth mentioning :p

i updated my simple icons, which are coming with the current version of nsis. the new version comes in that popular glossy look. maybe something to include in the final version of nsis? :p

same icons, but with checkboxes and wizard bitmap
Joost Verburg
12th January 2004 17:34 UTC
Thanks for your contributions! :)
The checkbox image is almost the same as simple-round.bmp. If you want to update this one, can you update simple.bmp too?
About the wizard image: I like it, but the border are not that nice. Can you create one without borders?
Can you also create a header bitmap in this style?
Yathosho
12th January 2004 18:11 UTC
here's this..
Yathosho
12th January 2004 18:13 UTC
..and that (glossy checkboxes too!)
Joost Verburg
12th January 2004 18:20 UTC
It does not use magenta for transparency. Can you create one without black borders at all?
Yathosho
12th January 2004 18:30 UTC
oops.
also i'm wondering, why the checks don't get displayed properly, thought 256 colors were possible.
Yathosho
12th January 2004 18:36 UTC
i don't think i want to remove the border. show me a screenshot of the wizard bitmap in use.
Joost Verburg
12th January 2004 18:40 UTC
The last wizard bitmap is fine.
The background color of your checkbox image is not always magenta, I'll fix that.

just for the nostalgia, i think the attached icon should be included. it was the default icon that came with NSIS, when it was still PiMP :)

though i have ideas on new checkboxes at the moment, i played a little with my box icons from the distribution. since my new nsis icons site isn't up yet, i post the varied icons here. enjoy.

@joost: i just figured that i makes no sense to use rounded edges in NSIS\Contrib\Graphics\Wizard\arrow.bmp, so i removed them. could you please replace the version distributed with nsis with this.
as a matter of fact, i don't like this image a lot, so you could also replace it with this (preview). also uses an arrow, so you could add it under the same name! :)
Joost Verburg

I have replaced the image.

updated one of my icons yesterday, as vista's desktop displays icons in 48x48 by default. no 100% happy, as i the glossy effect is not like on the smaller versions, but i guess nobody will notice (and i will try again soon!)
enjoy!
