Latest NSIS installer has virus
My AVG (http://free.grisoft.com) virus scanner detected the NSIS installation file as a virus.

Did anyone else get this?

False positive.
I'm sure other people will have this as well.

IDEA? : See if we can make a webform script where we just tick the antivirus solution provider of a list of most common ones, we type the version press send and the antivirus provider gets a default letter per email and and entry in their forum of false positives.

I get sick of the crappy software with false positives giving NSIS a bad name.

Well I contacted AVG technical support and got the following answer:

-------------------
I am sorry but it looks like you mean false alarm that was already corrected in update released yesterday when we had some reports about it. Could you please verify this with up to date Avg? I downloaded one installer from web site you mentioned and nothing was detected. If there would be still problem then please send me direct link for file on which problem occurs. We will analyse it and remove it ASAP.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Yeah, this morning when I got into work my AVG updated itself. I think the problem is gone now. Thanks onad.

with the increasing amount of posts like this, there should be a stickied article. there is also no word about this in the faq (only checked the webversion).

O_o
>_> i'm not sure if any of u other guys get this as well, but my anti-virus (BitDefender 9) is giving me problems with NSIS\Stubs\lzma saying... yes yes, the same virus... apparently BitDefender staff haven't done anything about it yet though >_>

*Frustrated and err.. pissed off >3*

http://nsis.sourceforge.net/NSIS_False_Positives ;)

Don't take it as only joke. The wiki really needs a page to what contains information about the false positives.

Nice work :)
