A vista icon for you
Well, I have done a "vista style" icon replacement for the "Orange" modern ui theme. I haven't tested it on vista because I don't have it, I aren't rich at this momment :D I hope you like it.

Nicely done!

Will test it in Vista versions and test if it is fully ICO compliant.

Works on vista.

Some remarks already...

1) 16 color could be done with better dithering

2) 16x16 is not design compliant, should be the box form side and not in perspective.

3) Misses somehow the Vista 'Glassy' shininess, need a little more.

4) The CD/DVD analogy is not really OK for and installer icon, since the can come from wherever (Download, SD casds, USB stics, and yes CD's ofcourse)

5) 24x24 is a size actually for Application toolbar icons not for an application icon.

I will see if I can help you out a little improving the icon look.

Thanks onad, could you post or send to me some screenshots on how it shows on vista with other icons sorrounding it to compare (with varous icon sizes, specially 16x16)?

Y know that the CD analogy is outdated but if it come in a box... I never see a SD card inside a software box :rolleyes:. Maybe is better to leave only the box, but in this case more work on the box is needed to look really good.

PS: I accept donations for a windows vista, :D :D

I'm changing the colors in the icon, with more contrast and saturation, and maybe I'll release a full modern ui theme with it.

I still need some screenshots on how it looks on vista with other icons sorrounding it, please.

EDIT: And also, how setups looks on vista? not NSIS itself, but setup programs in general, has something changed?

I'll release a full MUI theme for windows vista, but I'm having problems setting the installer and uninstaller icons, both have the same icons and in the same order, but due to the png compression for the 256x256 vista icons, the file sizes aren't the same.

Is there any way we can skip the file size check for icons or are you working in detect the png compression on icons?

Before putting the PNG into the ICO file, pad the smaller PNG with zeros using some editor.

I think my icon editor recompress the png file and the padding is removed.

I'll try another way later.

Right, it works now... I downloaded it like 3 times last night and they always failed to open. Thanks, and the icons are really nice!
