Portable Network Graphic?
wouldn't it be nicer to make the setup-bitmaps (checkboxes) and the splash screen in popular PNG? this not only saves filsize, it also allows transparent areas. nifty effect for the splash screen and valuable for the checkboxes.

The last thing this will do is save file size. If you want to be able to read PNG you will to include a PNG reader library and that would increase the installer size. You can also use OLELoadPicture but that requires a certian version of IE.
