NSIS 2 beta 3 is out!

Beta version 3 of NSIS 2, the popular win32 installer/uninstaller system, is out. NSIS 2 includes a new Modern UI, supports multiple languages and features an easy plugin system. NSIS is still the smallest win32 installer available, with an overhead of only 34 KB (with default options).

The most important changes in Beta 3 are:

• A new version of Modern UI with support for header images, new defines to change the description area, a single macro for language selection dialog and more.
• The documentation has been updated with new turorials and information.
• New commands: SectionSetInstTypes, SectionGetInstTypes, FlushINI.

And as always a lot of bugs have been fixed 🙂 For a complete list, see the changelog.

On the component selection page in the installer, the drop-down box doesn't drop down anymore. Instead there's a thick black line below the box. Not a big issue, but odd.

Try to reboot your system. Windows 9x often has drawing problems when the memory is a bit full.

I already did that (and just did again) before posting. I'll attach a screenshot of what it looks like.

Fixed in latest CVS version and uploading a new b3...

For now don't use MUI_COMPONENTSPAGE_SMALLDESC or MUI_COMPONENTSPAGE_NODESC.
