GetDlgItem + SetCtlColors = no color on branch

I cant get this piece of code working.

$R3 is a FIELD counter (from IO) and set to 9 or 10.
In case this text is shown text color has to be gray and not black (default).

but i cant get this working this way nor when $R3 contains the right number (eg 1209)
