I have an nsis installer which I wrote and during the install process there is an option to install a 3rd party piece of freeware.
If the user say "yes" my installer invokes the 3rd party installer with an execwait.
So far so good.
However, this freeware has got increasingly complex to install. It attempts to install adware and set your home page to another search engine etc.
Obviously this freeware has to make the author some money, I totally understand that. But is it possible to install this 3rd party software just by copying the exe across, registering its dlls and making the right registry entries?
And, it is legal? I'm guessing this 3rd party author might take some action against me if he knew? Or, in his license, what if his application is freely distributable?
Bypassing installer adware (toolbars, set home page etc) ...?
