APPCRASH on Windows server 2012
We recently had a customer report an APPCRASH on Windows server 2012 which happens immediately after double clicking the Nullsoft install exe. It is an address exception. The installer is really nothing more than a wrapper for four other embedded installs which uses options to select which ones to launch and install. It is a very large exe which was installed on the customer desktop. Has anyone else experienced an issue like this lately?
We are using Nullsoft Install System v2.46, but it is compiled on a Unix system so it shows this version instead: Nullsoft Install System v12-Jul-2011.cvs. I do not know if example1.nsi would work or not. We are not using any special plugins with the wrapper installer. The install works fine on dozens of other systems including my test windows server 2012. It is just this one customer that ran into it. The size is 862 MB of the exe on disk. We digitally signed the exe with VeriSign using a valid license, but the customer is also still getting a warning message that the exe publisher can't be verified. We have some work around procedures to try because we can just give the customer the individual installs to try instead the one big one. I've also recommended trying compatibility tab to see if this helps.
Our customer downloaded the same Nullsoft exe again and this time it worked fine. The previous download must have corrupted the exe. So it looks like this is a non issue. Thank you for your response Anders.
